North Wales Miners Association Trust Limited
The Community Heritage project has helped bring the history of the coalmining industry in Wrexham alive.
As part of the Wrexham Story we have captured some of the real stories of ex miners to discover what life was really like down the mines in Wrexham.
This has resulted in the online exhibition where you can view oral histories , the video wall and digital stories and discover our mining heritage.
The North Wales Miners Association Trust Ltd is a new association formed with the help and support of the Community Heritage project. Most of the volunteers are ex miners who are passionate about their heritage.
This association will now ensure the history of mining in the area is not forgotten. The trust has its own website www.northwalesminers.com. If you are an ex miner or have an interest in your history the group would welcome your help and support.
Join the group and become a member. There are lots of great ways to help such as tour guide, photography, researching the history, trails and maps etc.
Also working closely with volunteers from Llay Miners Welfare Trust and Llay History Group the trust are also helping with the forthcoming permanent exhibition relating some of the history of mining in the area – click here.
